Obituary

Nova Sharp Bolton, 96, of Cuero passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2020.  I was born September 6, 1923 on a farm in Missouri and raised in Seymour, Iowa where I graduated from high school in 1941.  During WWII I worked in the Surgeon General's office in Washington D.C. and was a sheet metal worker for a commercial airline, repairing carburetors for an Army motor pool.

I married a high school beau, William Bryan and had one son.  We traveled with Bill for twenty four years during his naval career.  In 1957, I was the only non-Hawaiian to have a certified Hula/Tahitian Studio in Oahu, Hawaii.  Bill retired in Corpus Christi, and we separated shortly after.

I bowled several leagues and joined in all facets of "Sweet Adeline's" while working in a Litton Office supply house.

After seven years, I met and married my beloved husband, Charles (Chuck) Bolton.  After he retired as a longshoreman, we moved to the Ouachita Mountains in Arkansas and restored an old farm.  We joined in the community by supporting the local volunteer fire department.  Health issues brought us back closer to sea level and we chose Cuero as it was in the center of the kids.  This was just in time for the flood of 1998 which devastated our newly renovated house, but was fairly quickly restored with the help of the kids.

I loved the frequent get-togethers.  I joined the Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, a line dance club, several Bunco clubs and led the T.O.P.S. club for a number of years.

I leave behind the following to remember me.  My loving faithful husband, Chuck; my son, Kevin and wife Carla Bryan; my step-son, Wes and wife Janet Bolton; younger brother, Wallace (Buck) and his wife Connie Sharp; brother-in-law, Lyle Crozier; grandchildren, Jenifer Bryan and Clay Kitchens, Zachary Bryan and Rick Davila, Catherine Ford, Joshua Bolton, Hanna Bolton and Jared Pena and Darren Bolton; great-grandchildren; close family friends and acquaintances.

If I have ever given you a pleasant or joyful memory, may the memory bring you more joy.
