Obituary

Odell White Sr., 83, of Cuero passed away Friday, December 7, 2012. He was born September 14, 1929 in Cuero to the late Albert and Ethel White. He married the love of his life Doris White on February 19, 1950 in Cuero. Odell was a County Commissioner for Dewitt County for 20 years. He was the Past President of Senior Citizen Association, De-gola Board Member, member of the Veterans Land Board for 12 years, Member of the Cuero Masonic Lodge where he was past president. A member of the Texas Historical Commission and Texas Historical Foundation. He was also a member of Lions Club, Child Study Clinic Board, DeWitt County Soil, Water, Conservation District, and Past President of Woodman of the World.

He is survived by his wife, daughters, Sherry Heyer and husband, David, of Victoria, Toni Sullivan and husband, Floyd, of Cuero, Belinda Speed and husband, Jay, of Victoria, and Brenda Stratman and husband, Scott, of Victoria; son, Odell White Jr. and wife, Faye, of Cuero; brother, Billy White and wife, Trish, of Cuero; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jerry Parker; brother, Cecil White; and 1 grandson.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Rev Mark Collins officiating. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Caleb White, Fr. Bryan Heyer, Randel Hammack, Mitchell Speed, Keith Schultz, and Cameron Schultz.
