Sis Ovie Lee Robinson was born to Vollie and Frank Mabry in Hopkinsville, TX on December 3, 1933. She married Adolph Robinson, Sr. on December 24, 1949. To this union ten children were born. She was a loyal wife, homemaker, and friend. She united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at a early age. After marrying she joined New Hope Baptist Church where she served as a Church clerk, Sunday School superintendent, and Choir member. She served whenever and wherever she could possible serve.
Sis Ovie Lee Robinson touched many lives with her kindness, smile, and passion for helping others. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Adolph Robinson, Sr. of 58 years; daughters, Virginia Kendricks, Percilla and Cercilla Robinson; sisters, Goldie Clay, Elizabeth Franklin, Doris Franklin, and Easter Barnett; brother, Eugene Foley.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Adolph Robinson, Jr. of Oklahoma and Arthur Robinson of Houston; five daughters, Ruby L. Robinson, Vollie C. Robinson, both of Cuero, Diane K. Thomas of San Antonio, Gladys Hopkins and Ovie J. Curtis, both of Victoria; two adopted daughters, Jennie Warner of Burnet and Lena Lee of Cuero; sister, Ruby Franklin of San Antonio; brother, Frank Mabry of San Antonio; 31 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at L.E. Meador Encampment Grounds with Rev. SA Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.
