Patsy Kay Krueger Goebel, 76, of Cuero passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017. She was born September 11, 1941 in DeWitt County to the late Elmer C. Krueger and Thelma J. Thompson. Patsy married the love of her life, Robert D. "Bobby" Goebel, on Oct 1, 1960 in Cuero. She and Robert own Goebel Woodwork in Cuero. Patsy was the former Executive Secretary of Texas Architectural Woodwork Chapter. She had a love of family, traveling, and her bridge groups. Patsy enjoyed history and served on the DeWitt County Historical Commission, was Co-Chairman of DeWitt County History Book Preparation and Publication, and Co-Chairman of Two Chisholm Trail Heritage Museums Galas. She also recorded and published Three Volumes of Cemeteries of DeWitt County. Patsy was a member of the Texas Archeological Society and the Southern Texas Archeological Association, and participated and assisted with conducting numerous field schools and investigations around the region.
The family would like to thank her loving caregivers, Pearl Ross, Joyce Shabazz, Rosie Rios, Candy Bowles, and all the staff of Cuero Nursing and Rehab.
Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years; daughter, Karen Schorre and husband, Jeff, of Cuero; sons, Kevin Goebel and wife, Laura, of Victoria and Keith Goebel and wife, Kathleen , of Cuero; sisters, Ann Watson and husband, Robert, of Cheapside and Sue Mueller, of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Carl Krueger and wife, Gail, of Cuero; and grandchildren, Kensey Janis and husband, Steven, of Victoria, Kellea Goebel, of San Marcos, Catrina Goebel, of Victoria, Corbin Goebel, of Cuero.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Honorary pallbearers will be all Patsy's nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Kallie Green officiating.
