Paul Mark Vahalik, beloved husband of Barbara Dlugosch Vahalik, entered eternal rest on September 24, 2023. They shared 49 wonderful years of marriage, creating a lifetime of cherished memories. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Paul was not only a pillar of strength for his family but also a beacon of love and support.

Paul is survived by his wife Barbara Fay Dlugosch-Vahalik, his daughter Jennifer and her husband Jason Jurica with their two beautiful boys, Jody and Jacob, who adored their grandfather, his son Mark and his husband Angelo Bonilla, and his son Luke and his wife Melissa Muhlenkamp Vahalik. Paul is also survived by his siblings Catherine, Dennis, Patricia, Phillip, and Barbara Jo. He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Michael.

Paul was a devout Catholic from a young age, and attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bloomington with his parents and siblings, where he often served mass. He was married at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cuero, and he and his wife Barbara have been members of Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria for many years.

Paul was also known for his love of hunting and ranching, as well as his skills and adventurous spirit in the kitchen. His legacy extends beyond his immediate family, and he touched the lives of countless loved ones with his ready sense of humor, compassion, and loyalty.

His memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life lived with determination, integrity, and an abundance of love.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 2, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary to begin at 6:30 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023, 12:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria.
