Peaches Charlotte Phillips, 89, of Cuero, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018. She was born July 28, 1928 to the late Dick and Christi Sherrill in Houston. She married the love of her life, Harry Lee Phillips, on September 1, 1946 in Kingsville. Peaches spent many years greeting all the patrons at Cuero Walmart.


Peaches is survived by her sons, Richard L. Phillips of Meyersville and Garry W. Phillips of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Doyle Phillips of San Antonio, Sara Phillips of Austin, Justin Phillips of New Braunsfels, Michelle Phillips of Cuero, Melanie Cromer of Houston, and Leila Allen of Pearland; and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years; son, Thomas D. Phillips; and sister, Dixie Shaw.

The visitation will be held Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will include Larry Coker, Doyle Phillips, Justin Phillips, David Drehr, Carl Kreugar, and Brown McClung.
