Obituary

Pearl Adelia Lassmann, 94, went to her Lord on January 29, 2013. She was born in Goliad County on April 2, 1918 to Max and Adelia Brandt.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Carl Oscar Lassmann, son Charles Arthur Lassmann, her brothers Max , Jr., Alonzo and Jim Brandt, step-sister Jane Rangnow, and her second husband, Bert Gisler.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Buendel, of McCoy, sons Richard, and wife Marie, of Kingsville, John and wife Pauline, of Victoria and Alton and wife Linda, of Schroeder, and daughter-in-law, Lornett Lassmann, of Cuero. She is survived by 11 grandchildren: Robert (Sandy) Lassmann, Gena (Gary) Davis, Cynthia (Todd) Kennedy, Kevin (Sherry) Buendel, John Lassmann, Jr., Lynne (John) Salles, Russell (Rachel) Lassmann, Anissa (Finley) Blackwell, Charlene Taylor, Charles Lassmann, Jr. and Ray Lassmann. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.

Pearl was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mission Valley for 75 years, where her husband and all her children were baptized.
After she and "Chaley" retired from farming near Arneckeville, they moved to Cuero, where she worked at Perry Bros. and Bottom Dollar for many years.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Robert Lassmann, Kevin Buendel, Charles Lassmann, Jr., John Lassmann, Jr., Russell Lassmann and Ray Lassmann.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, February 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Rev. Gena Lassmann Davis (grand-daughter) officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
