Obituary

Pearl White Nagel, 96, of Cuero went to be with her Lord Jesus on September 21, 2013. She was born September 1, 1917 in Meyersville to the late Edwin Charles (Epp) and Olga Caroline Jacobs Schaefer. Pearl White married Edwin Henry Nagel on October 6, 1940 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Meyersville. She was a loving homemaker and spent her later years quilting, crocheting, knitting, reading, traveling, playing dominoes/cards with friends, and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pearl White was a lifetime member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Meyersville and truly enjoyed being active in all church work. She was also a member of the Texas Lutheran University Development Board, AARP, the American Legion, the Ladies Aid, and the Alter Guild.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Sagebiel and husband, Obert, of Meyersville; son, Donald Charles Nagel and wife, Brenda, of Mission Valley; grandchildren, Clark Sagebiel and wife, Argelia, Dustin Nagel, Colby Nagel, Diane Sagebiel Chavez and husband Michael, and Wade Nagel and wife, Nikki; and great-grandchildren, Caleb Sagebiel, Colton and Jordon Nagel, Austin and Faith Chavez, and Mason, Kyle, and Caleb Nagel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 35 years.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor John Boor officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Clark Allen Sagebiel, Dustin Charles Nagel, Colby Lynn Nagel, Wade Allen Nagel, Michael Eugene Chavez, and Colton Lee Nagel.

Honorary Pallbearers include Diane Chavez, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Jed Sager, and Billy Nami

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. John Alter Guild, the Texas Lutheran University Scholarship Fund, Hospice of South Texas, or Donor's Choice.
