Peggy Gene Von Haefen, 77, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017. She was born August 22, 1940 in Goliad to the late Ruth Kreiger Ressman and Roland Knocke. Peggy married the love of her life, Clarence Von Haefen, on December 22, 1956 in Cuero. She was a physical education teacher for Victoria ISD and enjoyed dancing and doing arts and crafts.

Peggy is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years; sons, Les Von Haefen of Cuero, Jeff Von Haefen of Cuero, and Troy Von Haefen of Nashville, TN; and grandchildren, Hanna Von Haefen, Greta Von Haefen, and Michael Von Haefen, all of Nashville, TN, and Lindsey Von Haefen of Cuero.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Verdale Curtis of Corpus Christi; and her step-father, Henry Ressman of Cuero.


Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor William Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Lindenau Community Cemetery.
