Obituary

Philip Randall Cowey, 60, of Cuero passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. He was born May 17, 1951 in Cuero to Lillian Vrazel Cowey and E.R. Buddie Cowey. He married Dianne Lynn Ulman on January 22, 1972 in Cuero. He worked the majority of his life at his family's car dealership, Cowey Bros. Motors, served 41 years as a volunteer with the Cuero Fire Dept., also serving 12 years as Fire Marshall, enjoyed dove hunting, fishing, barbecuing, and spending time outside, especially on his lawn mower. He most recently worked at Marrou & Co. and A to Z in Gonzales.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Dianne Cowey; daughters, Suzanne Holland (Wes) and Lindsey Musch (David); son, Brandon Cowey (Haley), all of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Annie, Jack, and Sam Holland and Lily Musch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Laurie Ulman, John and Sharon Turley, Jim and Linda Parmigiano, two nieces, and six nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, June 13, 2011, 10 a.m., at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Brandon Cowey, Wes Holland, David Musch, Bob Ulman, John Turley, and Jim Parmigiano.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, St. Michael's Catholic Church, or Hospice of South Texas.
