Obituary
Rachel Arredondo Zapata, age 50, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 in Corpus Christi.
She was born on May 19, 1960 to Irena Vargas Gomez of Robstown and the late Robert Arredondo of Goliad. She worked as a dry cleaner.
She is survived by her mother; daughters, Margarita Z. Cardenas of Cuero, Renee Cruz of Pocatello Idaho and Cristina Arredondo of Cuero; sons, Carlos Cruz Zapata of Cuero and Christopher C. Zapata of Cuero; sisters, Esther (Carlos) Cavazos of Corpus Christi, Irene (Joe) Cavazos of Corpus Christi; brothers, Robert Lee Arredondo of Corpus Christi, Roy Arredondo of Port Aransas, Bruno (Norma) Arredondo of Robstown and Cruz Arredondo of Robstown; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Arredondo.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 7, 2011 with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. on April 8, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery in Goliad.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freund Funeral Home to help defray funeral service expenses.
