Cuero-Ralph 'Dick' Coppedge, 92, of Cuero passed away Sunday, January 10, 2010. He was born May 12, 1917 in Concrete to the late Lawrence and Myrtle Stubbs Coppedge. He married his late wife, Lillian Kennedy on June 10, 1940 in Hochheim. He married Lunell Brown on July 5, 1993 in Cuero. Dick owned Coppedge Tire Service with his brother, Raleigh 'Coot' Coppedge for over forty years before retiring. He was a devoted husband and a wonderful father and brother. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Cuero, having been baptized, locked arm in arm with his twin brother, 'Coot' Coppedge, at a church revival in 1925. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over sixty years. All who knew 'Dick' knew a kind and generous soul whose presence will be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lunell Coppedge; sons, Jimmy Ralph Coppedge and wife, Carolyn, and Lawrence 'Larry' Wayne Coppedge and wife, Linda; daughter, Patricia 'Patty' Steele-Bateman and husband, Butch; step-son, Peter Michael Brennan; stepdaughters, Peggy Sharon Carman, Linda Ann Brennan, Mary Katherine Bullock and Judith Inez Brennan; brother, John Oliver Coppedge; sister, Mitchie Wallace Byrd; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Coppedge; his parents; brothers, Lawrence Coppedge and Raleigh 'Coot' Coppedge.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, Cuero with Dr. Glenn Robertson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Coppedge, Jason Coppedge, Chris Buesing, Rodney Bardwell, David Fallin, and Paul Martin.
