Obituary

Ralph Glen Kueker, 84, of McGregor, formally of Cuero passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. He was born October 9, 1927 in Lindenau to the late Robert and Laura Cunningham Kueker. Ralph was a veteran serving in the United States Army from January of 1946 to March of 1947. He married Janie Winters McCarty on March 23, 1984 in Burton, Texas and made DeWitt County their home for many years. He was an Equipment Operator for DeWitt County, was a farmer/rancher, the owner of Tobacco Junction in Victoria from 1997 to 2005, and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lindenau. He has a lifetime membership with the VFW and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years; daughter, Karen Glenna Akers and grandson, Justin Akers, of Denton; step-daughter, Debbie McCarty Love and husband, Chip, of Houston; step-son, Dan McCarty and wife, Leanne, of Plano; step-grandchildren, Dannie Love Gibeau of Oklahoma City, Colton Love of College Station, Christine and Olivia McCarty of Plano; brothers, Albert Kueker of Cuero, William R. 'Bill' Kueker and wife, Shelia, Rev. John Kueker and wife, Ester, and Roy Kueker and wife, Kathy; sisters, Wanda Huey, Anna Schlinke and husband, Harold, Eunice Lee, and Betty Afflerbach and husband, Curtis; and a slew of nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Matejek and Rosemary Young; brothers, Robert Kueker Jr. and Kenneth Kueker; nieces, Joy Kueker; and nephews, Eric Afflerbach and Bobby Matejek.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, October 14, 2011, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lindenau with Pastor William Hill officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Lindenau.

Pallbearers include Justin Akers, Colton Love, Chip Love, Dan McCarty, Roy Kueker, and Curtis Afflerbach. Honorary Pallbearers include Wilburn Arndt and Norman Kahlich.
