Ralph H. Wolf, 82, of the Green Dewitt Community, passed away on Sept. 18, 2010, at the Cuero Community Hospital. He was born March 7, 1928, at home, to Albert C. and Julia Rapp Wolf.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Eugene and Armin (and wife Helen); sisters-in-law, Ida Wolf (Walter) and Elsie Wolf (Harold); and brother-in-law, Fred Thamm (Adeline).
He is survived by brothers, Walter and wife Dorothy of Arneckeville and Harold of Houston; sisters, Adeline Thamm of Cuero, and Ida Marie Schultz and husband I.D. of San Antonio; nephews and nieces, Wayne (Sonja) and Mel (Carey) Wolf, Byron (Deanna) and Doug (Gwenn) Wolf, Donna (Jack) Spencer and Gary (Sandra) Wolf, Marilyn Powell (Ben Burkett), Robert (Terron) Thamm, and Stephen (Serena) Thamm, Julie (Dale) Seilheimer, Chris (Tracey) Schultz, Sammie Leck, and "Rip" (Barbara) Gibson; numerous grand and great-grand-nephews and nieces.
The nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Ralph enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1946 just prior to graduating from Cuero High School. A rancher, at times he worked as an oil gauger, operated a grocery store at Arneckeville with brother Walter and was a commercial egg producer. He was a devoted son, caring for his widowed mother for many years, and was a lifelong and faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Arneckeville.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial to Zion Lutheran Cemetery Fund, Zion Lutheran Elevator Fund, or the benevolence of the giver's choice.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church of Arneckeville with the Rev. Barbara Beale officiating.
