Obituary

Cuero, Ramiro "Ram" Vasquez, 62, of Cuero, passed away Nov. 19, 2008. He was born Sept. 21, 1946, in McFaddin, to the late Cruz and Cresencia Basquez of Victoria. He retired from Alcoa in Point Comfort after 29 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a Guadalupano.

He is survived by his wife, Herminia "Minnie" Vasquez of Cuero; his children, Cindy Vasquez (Elarie) of Austin, Gabriel (Michelle) Mejia of Pflugerville, Milissa (Jimmie) Martinez of San Antonio, Debbie Vasquez of Cuero, Erica (Chris) Licon of Round Rock, and Jessica (Chris) Linder of Austin; grandchildren, Adrian Martinez, Christian Licon, Samantha Martinez, Ari Licon, Kristin Martinez, Roman Martinez, Alyssa Linder, and Maya Vasquez-Stegant; brothers, Raul (Lupe) Vasquez of Victoria and Jesse (Francis) Vasquez of Victoria; sisters, Beatrice (Lupe) Martinez of Victoria, Rosa (Dan) Garcia of Victoria, and Maria (Bobby) Villa of Clayton, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jacob Vasquez; daughter, Angelica Vasquez; and brother, Juan Botello.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 21, 2008, at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at Our Lady of Guadalupe with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Johnny Varella, Tony Rivera, Ernest Cuellar, Ernest Jasso, Rene Olguin, and Johnny Ray Rivera.

Memorials: Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
