Ramona Cervantes Rodriguez, 87, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014. She was born May 30, 1927, in Uvalde to the late Jose and Maria Cervantes. Ramona loved music, dancing, and reading her bible. Our Lord was first in her heart and life. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a lot of love to give us all. Ramona worked hard her entire life.

She is survived by her children, Mary Amador (Floyd), John Rodriguez (Debbie), Joe Rodriguez (Sylvia), Averta White (Ronny Wayne), Margie Pompa (Bobby), Martin Rodriguez , and Voila Zummack; brother, Inez Cervantes (Esther); sisters, Janie Gonzales (Jesse), Antonia Gonzales, and Francis Lazo; 30 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Rodriguez, brothers, Joe Cervantes, Jr. and Guadalupe Cervantes; and sisters, Maria Trejo and Josephine Diaz.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with the rosary at 7 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Valley Guadalupe Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Floyd Amador IV, John Rodriguez III, Josphen Rodriguez, Ronnie W. White, Jr., Bobby Pompa, Jr., Martin H. Rodriguez, Jr., and David Sanders, Jr.
