Obituary

Ray Franklyn Katzmark of Cuero, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2009. He was the only child born to Frank and Ella Riebschlaeger Katzmark on November 17, 1925 in San Antonio, TX. He married the love of his life, Beverly Jean Hansen on August 29, 1948. He was a proud graduate of The University of Texas in 1949 with a degree in pharmacy and was a lifetime member of the Texas Exes. Ray and his wife, Beverly, dedicated their lives to serving others through their two pharmacies, Klecka Drug and Center Pharmacy. He was active in the community serving as President and Secretary for the Rotary Club, President of Cuero Independent School District Board, Director of the DeWitt County Livestock Show and member of the Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where he served as choir director for over forty years. Ray loved the Lord, his family, music, and his Texas Longhorns.

His loving wife, Beverly, his parents, Frank and Ella Katzmark, and his beloved Uncle and mentor Charles Riebschlaeger and his wife, Evelyn, precedes him in death.

He is survived by his son, Randy Katzmark and friend Lisa Davis of Cuero; daughter and son-in-law, Kaye and John Fuquay of New Braunfels; grandchildren Andrew Katzmark, JD Fuquay, Amy Kaye Fuquay, and Allie Fuquay; and brother and sister-in-law, Don and Amy Hansen.

Family visitation will be held at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2009. Services will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. A reception will be held following the burial at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.

Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Katzmark, JD Fuquay, Don Hansen, Dr. Raymond Reese, Dr. John Davis, Perry Jackson, and Charles Berkovsky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or St Mark's Lutheran Church.
