Raymond Navarro, 81, of Cuero passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011. He was born on October 12, 1929 in Cuero to the late Delfino and Maria Chavez Navarro. He married Aurora Dimas on June 23, 1952 in Cuero. He was an electrician helper.

He is survived by his wife, Aurora Navarro; his daughters, Sylvia Ortiz and Rosalinda Gomez and husband, Alex, all of Cuero; son, Raymond Navarro Jr. of Placedo; sisters, Elvira Dimas and husband, Manuel, of San Antonio, Oralia Navarro of Cuero, and Guadalupe Hayes of Ardmore, Oklahoma; brother, Steven Navarro of Port Lavaca; grandchildren, Brenda Ortiz of San Antonio, Russell Ortiz of Cuero, Kevin Ortiz and wife, Juanita, of Cuero, Brian Gomez and wife, Linda, of Cuero, Matthew Gomez and wife Susie, of Cuero, Zachary Gomez and wife, Emily, of Cuero; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas Navarro, Isidro Navarro Jr., and Delfino Navarro Jr..

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Kirby Hlavaty officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Brian Gomez, Matthew Gomez, Zachary Gomez, Brenda Ortiz, Russell Ortiz, and Kevin Ortiz.
