Rebecca Ann Sprinkle, 71, of Meyersville passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024.  She was born December 18, 1952 in San Diego, CA to Henry David and Dorothy May Ross Hackett.  She married Mark D. Sprinkle on December 16, 1972 in Corpus Christi and was a devoted wife for fifty-one years.  She attended Stephen F. Austin State University and obtained her Master's degree in Education-Curriculum and Instruction.  She worked for Bloomington Elementary School and retired from Yorktown Elementary School after twenty six years.  She was a devout, lifelong catholic and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  She served on the parish council and volunteered for The Gabriel Project.  She enjoyed making rosaries and gardening in her spare time.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, Mark Sprinkle; daughter, Karrie Lucchi (Anthony) of Happy Valley, OR; sons, Steven Sprinkle (Sara) of Van Alstyne, TX and Ryan Sprinkle (Laura) of Meyersville; brother, Joseph Hackett of Texarkana and cousin who was like a sister, Kathy Hooge (Daniel) of Meyersville.

Rebecca's greatest love and legacy was her 14 grandchildren; Shelby, Schafer and Sydney Sprinkle of Van Alstyne, TX, Avery, Olivia, Anna, Sophia, Ella, Evan, Gemma, Nicolas and Gianna Lucchi of Happy Valley, OR and Poppy and Piper Sprinkle of Meyersville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Dorothy Hackett; brother, Jewell Scott Hackett as well as a friend who was like a sister, Jamie Sanchez of Nacogdoches.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, 9:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Meyersville with Father Samuel Appiasi officiating.  Interment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
