Rechard Ellen Sammons, 45, of Cuero, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2010. She was born Sept. 8, 1965, in Chula Vista, Calif., to the late Richard Allen Sammons Sr. and Ellen Jane Sammons. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a friend to everyone, and a hard worker all her life. She loved being outside with her plants and roses and her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Lacey Jayne Sammons (Albert Aguilar) of Cuero; sons, Daniel D. Molina Jr. (Daniela B. Zavala) of La Grange and Robert John Naranjo of Cuero; sisters, Shirley Turpen of Clinton, Ind., Rhonda Dutton of Kirby, Saundra Reyes of Cuero, and Stacey Hooper of Willis; brother, Richard Allen Sammons Jr. of Yorktown; and grandchildren, Andrea Nicole Aguilar, Isaiah Daniel Arredondo, Abigail Elise Aguilar, Kaley Paris Molina, and Kameron Rinnon Molina.

Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010 at First United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at Freund Funeral Home Chapel in Cuero. Interment will be 4 p.m. Monday at Bundick Cemetery in Smiley.

Pallbearers: Albert Aguilar, Daniel D. Molina, Robert John Naranjo, Paul Reyes, Richard Allen Sammons Jr., and Natividad Arredondo.
