Obituary

Robert Douglas "Blue" Lee, 80, of Cuero passed away November 23, 2016. He was born April 12, 1936 in Sweethome to Jack and Cleo Lee. Blue married Bitsy Fillmore Lee on June 21, 1997 in Nursery. In 1971, Blue was Goodwill worker of the year and met President Nixon and Joan Crawford. He worked for South Texas Electric and was an accomplished horseman and avid rancher. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed seeing and hearing about all of their accomplishments.

Blue as people called him never gave up and could do anything despite the fact that he was a double amputee. II Timothy 4:7 , " I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

He is survived by his wife, Bitsy Lee; daughter, Shannon Lee Crockett (John) of College Station and Shannon Falk of Mont Belview; son, Robert Claude Lee of Yorktown; grandchildren, Sam Crockett and Ben Crockett of College Station and Aubrey Falk and Tyler Falk of Mont Belview; brothers, Bill Lee of Rockport, Harold Lee and John Lee of Thomaston and Jack Lee of Cuero.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at Freund Funeral Home at 9 a.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 10 a.m. with Deacon Leo Sharron officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gregor Haby, Sam Crockett, Ben Crockett, Bill Lee, Harold Lee, James Laake, John Lee and Jack Lee.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
