Robert Mace Murphree, 81, of Sweet Home passed away Monday, April 1, 2024.  He was born December 26, 1942 in Beaumont to Hugh and Erma Murphree.  He proudly served in the United States Navy.  He was a member of the American Legion in Sweet Home.

He is survived by his daughters, Amanda Murphree and Patricia Murphree; sons, Mike (Melanie) Murphree, Randall (Brenda) Murphree, Hugh (Charlene) Murphree, Dave Murphree and Braydon (Heather) Murphree; brothers, Charles Murphree and Barney Murphree and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024, 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Freund Funeral Home, 213 N. Gonzales in Cuero.  Funeral Services will be Friday, April 5, 2024, 10:00 AM at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Kyle Howell officiating.  Interment will be at Thomaston Community Cemetery with a time of food and fellowship to follow at Lighthouse Freewill Baptist Church 605 Glascow St. in Victoria.

Pallbearers include Mike Murphree, Randall Murphree, Hugh Murphree, Braydon Murphree, Dave Murphree, Brandon Stubbs, Ken Tweet and Scott Mozisek.

Honorary pallbearers include Jessie Reynosa, Lowell Martin, Brian Amsden, Bracken Ellis, Preston Amsden and Ross Hrncir.
