Robert Gordon Smith, 92, of Needville, formerly of Cuero passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018. He was born October 23, 1926 in Dallas to the late Willie and Ruby Smith. He married Jo Bell Chapman on September 29, 1946 in Dallas. Robert was a Gas Measurement Superintendent for 29 years at Ensearch Corporation. Robert was previously a member of Woodmen of the World, Former Royal Ambassador Leader, Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at First Baptist Church in Cuero.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Jo Bell Smith; son, David Smith of Cuero; Daughter, Jana Love of Houston; Brother, Russell (Linda) Smith; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father; and brothers, Billy and Raymond Smith.

Visitation will be Friday, November 2, 2018, 9:30 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 2, 2018, 11:00 a.m.,at Freund Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Odell White, Roy Hafling , David Morrow, David Smith, Colby Smith, Travis Smith and Shawn Nelson.
