Obituary

Robert Sollock, 94, formally of Cuero and Victoria died Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Robert was born in Rule, TX on July 28, 1918. Mr. Sollock was a local business man in Cuero for over 30 years. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Cuero. He was also World War II veteran serving as a B-29 Bomber Pilot stationed on the island of Saipan. Lt. Sollock flew numerous bombing missions on Japan as well as other targets. His wife Jean Sollock served as a WAC during those years as well. Robert and Jean had a sixty-two year love affair together.

Mr. Sollock is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean; two sisters, Lucile and Earline; his brother, Doyle and his parents, Thomas Ervin and Ada Sollock.

Mr. Sollock is survived by his son, Ben of Victoria, TX, son, Mike and wife, Barbara, of Oklahoma City, OK and daughter, Alex of Cottonwood, AZ. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Harmony and husband, Roger, and their son, Dayton and his granddaughter, Laura and husband, James, of Kansas City, MO.

There will be a private family gathering in Rule at the cemetery to celebrate Mr. Sollock's life.
