Robert W. Steiner, 84, of Cuero passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022. He was born March 20, 1937 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to the late Robert and Grace Steiner. Robert married Faye A. Sellnick on December 15, 1955 in Pownell, Vermont. He served in the United States Marine Corps and worked for the National Security Agency. Robert was a member of the National Umpires Association. He was the sports editor for the Cuero Record for several years. Robert was the City of Cuero Animal Control Officer for many years until retiring in 2007. He was loved and respected by so many and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Faye A. Steiner; daughters, Kim (Steve) Schumacher and Stephanie Steiner, both of Cuero; and son, Gary (Tracy) Steiner of Dalton, Massachusetts; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kurt Steiner, and sister, Joanne Maloney.

A private family memorial service will be planned at a later date.
