Rogelio "Roger" Saenz, 81, of Mineola, passed March 17, 2017. He was born in rural DeWitt County to Faustino Saenz II and Genoveva Aguirre Saenz on May 13,1935. He was raised in Cuero and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He volunteered to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of 40 plus years, Modene McBride Saenz; step-daughter, Debra Morris (Jim); sister Mary Geneva Torres (Robert); brothers, Armando Saenz (Linda), Faustino Saenz III (Del), and 15 nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dahlia Navarro and husband Steve; nephew, David F. Saenz; and step-daughter, Cathy McBride. Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating.
