Roland H. Tieken, 93, of Cuero, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018.  He was born in Gonzales on March 10, 1925 to the late William and Helen Krause Tieken.  Roland served in WW2 in the United States Army. He was a superintendant for Kruegur Construction for over 30 years before he retired.  Roland enjoyed being outdoors, riding on his Kubota, and was even bailing hay at 91 years old. He loved spending time with his family.

Roland is survived by his daughters, Betty (Ronnie) Blank, Linda Mills, and Laurie (Larry) Klaus, all of Cuero; son, Roland (Karen) Tieken Jr. of Victoria; daughter-in-law, Pam Tieken of Cuero; five grandchildren, Mike (Monica) Mills, Traci (Rob Jr.) Frank, April (Todd) Spears, Kristie Tieken, and Michelle Klaus; five great-grandchildren, Mike and Matthew Mills, Tyler Frank, and Grayson and Holden Spears; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tieken was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Velda Leick Tieken; brothers, Edmund and Herbert Tieken; sister, Luella Mueller; son, Gary Tieken; and grandchildren, Kortney Tieken and Troy Klaus.

A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday August 31, 2018 at Hillside Cemetery with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating.
