Roman Deleon Suniga, 90, of Edna passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020. He was born February 18, 1930 in Yorktown to Filiberto and Louisa Deleon Suniga.  He married Juana Barrera on August 26, 1948 in Cuero.  Roman retired after twenty five years with The City of Temple.  He enjoyed dancing and loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Cruz of Edna; sons, Daniel Suniga of Menifee, California and Filiberto Suniga of Waco; sisters, Carolina Gonzales of Temple and Blanca Gonzales of Westhoff; brothers, Herman Mejias of San Antonio and Cruz Suniga of Westhoff; grandchildren, Lucia Gloria ~ Safady, Mark Gloria, Mary Ann Gutierrez, Eric Cruz, James Cruz and Sammy Cruz; nine great-grandchildren and twenty one great-great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 58 years, Juana Suniga; sisters, Alejandra Valenzuela, Margarita Guerra, Eva Tamez and grandchildren, Robert Cruz Jr.

Pallbearers include Mark Gloria, Daniel Suniga, Eric Cruz, James Cruz, Sammy Cruz and Herman Gonzales.

Honorary Pallbearers include Richard A. Gloria, Robert L. Gloria, Jonathan D. Gloria, Colton J. Cruz, Marvin Gloria, Francisco Samora and Mark A. Gloria Jr.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, 10:00 AM at Freund Funeral Home with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Union Valley Cemetery in Nixon.
