Rosa Saenz Garcia, 73, of Rosenberg passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Katy. She was born April 18, 1937 in Nordheim to Rosa Saenz and the late Emilio Saenz. Rosa married Gumesindo Garcia in Shiner. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her mother, Rosa Saenz of Cuero; sons, Victor Garcia of Houston, David Garcia of Houston, Gumesindo Garcia, Jr. of Rosenberg, and Michael Garcia of Houston; sisters, Elma Cantu of Ft. Worth, Ramona Garcia of Lubbock, and Sandy Gregory of Houston; brothers, Emilio Saenz Jr. of Cuero, Robert Saenz of Missouri City, and Eddie Saenz of Sedona, Arizona; 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Emilio Saenz and her husband, Gumesindo Garcia.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 9, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be Monday, January 10, 2011, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with Father Roger Hawes officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.

Pallbearers include Michael A. Garcia, Zachary Garcia, Taylor Garcia, Evan Garcia, Norman Saenz, and Bobby Gonzales.

Honorary pallbearers include Ronnie Cantu, Ruben Cantu, Robert Joe Garcia, Ryan Cantu, and Justin Garcia.
