Obituary

Rosa Lee Henderson, 83, of Cuero, passed Thursday, March 3, 2011, in DeWitt County. She was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Thomaston, to the late Cato M. Jackson Sr. and Julia Barnes Jackson. She married the late Chester Henderson in Cuero. She was a domestic worker. Rosa Lee worked for Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Aronstein for 65 years. She also loved fishing and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her adopted son, Tony Vargas of Cuero; sisters, Virginia Sanders of Sacramento, Calif., and Callie Williams of Cuero; brother, Tillman Jackson of Thomaston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sisters, Heildered Tucker and Carolyn Jackson; brothers, Cato M. Jackson Jr., Jerry Jackson, Charles Jackson, and Robert Lee Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 .m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at LE Meador Encampment Ground with the Rev. Kelvin Washington (officiate) and the Rev. Lou Terry Jackson (preacher). Burial will be Lockhart Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Jackson, Rod Jackson, Maurice Williams, Darold Jackson, Martel Williams, and Sidney Buch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry National, James Ross, EauTrell Jackson, Darrell Jackson, Robert Herron, and Robert Holman.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas.
