Mr. Roy L. Henderson, 74, of Cuero passed away Friday, August 6, 2021. He was born in Cuero to Reverend A.D. and Sister Elizabeth Henderson on December 31, 1946. He served in the United Sates Army and was a proud Sergeant and veteran. He worked for Chocolate Bayou and retired after twenty five years of employment. He enjoyed collecting and shooting guns. Roy was a faithful member of the church he grew up in, Mt. Zion Baptist Church until his death.

He is survived by his son, Russell (Monique) Henderson of Katy; daughter, RaShanda (Jermaine) Brooks of Houston; sisters, Karean L. Lee of Cuero, Janice (Nathanial) Jones of Houston and Cheryl Henderson of Cuero; brothers, Finley D. Henderson of California, Ferdinand L. Henderson of Atlanta, GA, Alonzo M. Henderson of Victoria, Sylvester E. Henderson (Debbie) of Austin, Craig S. Henderson (Denise) of Austin and A.J. Henderson (Landa) of Yoakum; grandchildren, Jazmyn Henderson, Isley Henderson and Amayah Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eddie C. Williams; brother-in-law, Melvin; sisters-in-law, Pat Henderson and Jean Henderson and nephews, Garrette Sy Henderson and Kaydyn Whittington.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, 2:00 pm at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. George N. Franklin officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasantville Cemetery.
