Ruby Lee Buenger, 94, of Cuero passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019.  She was born November 2, 1924 to the late Gus and Janie Stewart in Cuero.  She married Garrett Buenger on June 18, 1945 in Gonzales.  Ruby was a life-long member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid, the choir and Altar Guild, as well as the Five Mile Home Demonstration Club.  She was a checker for Boysen's Piggly Wiggly, a leather worker for Tex Tan, and was a childcare provider for several families in DeWitt County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, and siblings.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Pallbearers include Ron Elliot, Jason Andrews, Clem Waskow, Jeff McMahan, James Rath, and Kenneth Schley.  Honorary pallbearers include E.C. Brown and Ray Peterek.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or Hospice of South Texas.
