Sandra Kay Karnei Gaus
Cuero; Sandra Kay Karnei Gaus, 59, of Cuero, died on August 8, 2009. Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend.
Sandra was born October 13, 1949 at Cuero Hospital to Calvin and Norma Pfeifer Karnei. She was baptized on February 26, 1950 and confirmed on March 22, 1964, both at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Nordheim. She was married to Elwood Barrett Gaus on August 9, 1975 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Yorktown.

She graduated from Nordheim High School in 1968 and graduated from Bee County College in 1970.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero, Texas. She worked at Trust Texas Bank in Cuero as a loan processer until her retirement in 2006. Since then, she has enjoyed her dog, T-Bone and her cattle. Her pride and joy was taking care of her grandson.

She is survived by her grandson; Gunner Anthony Schuckenbrock of Victoria, daughter; Stephanie Eileen Gaus Schuckenbrock and her husband Lucas of Victoria, son; Eric Brian Gaus of Cuero, mother; Norma Pfeifer Karnei of Yorktown, sister; Donna Karnei of Yorktown; mother in law; Deloris Peters Gaus of Yoakum; Katherine Gaus Lewis and husband Rick of Belton; Conyetta Gaus Swaney and husband Joe of Yoakum; Malcolm C Gaus and wife Diane of Pearland. Nieces and nephews; Vanessa Gaus Feldschau and husband David of Houston; Darron Gaus of Pearland; Brian Lewis of Round Rock; Kimberly Lewis Schutz and husband Matt of Belton.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband; Elwood Barrett Gaus; father Calvin Karnei and father in law Elwood Joe Gaus.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Freund Funeral Home from 6-8 pm.

Service of Celebration of Life and Love of Sandra Karnei Gaus will be Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 10 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero. Burial to follow at the Nordheim Cemetery under the direction of Freund Funeral Home in Cuero 361-275-2343.
