Miss Severa Martinez, 82, of Cheapside, passed away June 30, 2018.  She was born February 21, 1936 to the late Bartholo and Tomasa Garza Martinez in Cuero.  Severa was very outgoing and loved to shop, sew, and attend church functions.  She also enjoyed spending her time at the LaBahia Adult Daycare Center.

Severa is survived by her sister, Carlota Martinez, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Maria and Adela Martinez; brothers, Anselmo, Louis, Pedro, Bartholo Jr., and Manuel Martinez.

The visitation will be held Friday July 6, 2018 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rosary will be prayed at 9:40 a.m.   The funeral service will immediately follow at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jasper Liggio.  Interment will follow at San Miguel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Mr. and Mrs. John Echols, Lydia Martinez, Larry Guerrero III, Christopher Rodriguez, and Felix Rocha Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help defray the funeral expenses.
