On July 22, 1944, the third child was born to the late Robert (R.A) and Silona B. Taylor Strait in Westhoff, Texas.  They named her Shirley Louise Strait, we called her "Baby Girl."  At an early age she accepted Christ as her savior and united with St. Thomas Baptist Church in Westhoff, Texas under the ministry of the late Reverend F.G. Shropshire, where she sang in the choir.  She graduated Salutatorian from Daule High School in 1961 and went on to obtain her Cosmetology License from Hicks Beauty School in San Antonio, Texas.  After moving to Cuero, she united with Quinn Chapel Methodist Church under the ministry of the late Reverend Lester Adams.  She was a faithful member until her health failed.  On September 25, 1974 Shirley married Clarence Robinson.  No children were born of this union.  On August 12, 2020 at 3:28 am, God called Shirley Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister and two nieces.  She is survived by two daughters, Yvette Franklin of Houston, Texas, Debbie Strait (Henry) of Kenedy, Texas; two sons, Michael Strait (Barbara) of San Antonio, Texas and Robert Strait (Monica) of Victoria, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Sue (Leroy) Dailey of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Strait of Yoakum, Texas; four nieces; two nephews; eight great nephews; five great nieces and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.  Two special friends are Mary Hernandez and Regina Campbell and a special niece, Pamela Turner.

A Private Memorial Service with immediate family and close friends will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020, 10 AM at Freund Funeral Home with Rev. Charles A. Grant officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside cemetery.
