Mrs. Shirley Lynn Strote, 68, of Yorktown, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018.  She was born March 1, 1950 to Russell and Shirley Jerousek Burt in Chicago, IL.  Shirley enjoyed bowling, softball, and playing card games.  Her truest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Shirley lived life her way.  She is loved and will be dearly missed.

Shirley is survived by her mother of Oak Lawn, IL; daughter, Michelle (Jesus) Guerrero of Tynan; sons, Neil Workman of Indiana, Richard (Bridgette) Workman of Bradley, IL, Russell (Anna) Cerniuk of Brazil, Gene Strote of Sioux Falls, and Larry Strote of Yorktown; sister, Marilyn Olson; brother, Russ Burt; and grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, Carly, Tiffany, Holly, Katlyn, Cortni, Taylor, Mackenzie, Allexus, Faith, Christian, Christopher, and Kaylee; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and sister, Jeanne Neumann.

The visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home.  The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Brown officiating.
