Socorro P. Peña, 90, of Cuero passed away Friday, March 5, 2021.  She was born May 13, 1930 in Highlands, Texas to Ubaldo and Ester Rodriguez Palacios.  She married Jose Eric Peña on September 13, 1948 in Laredo, Texas.  She was a teacher and housewife.  She treasured her family.

She is survived by daughter, Anna R. (Edward) Sanchez of Victoria; sons, Louis A. Peña of Curns, Tennessee, Gustavo (Cindy) Peña of Rowlett, Eric U. (Araceli "Shelly") Peña of Cuero; sister, Angelica P. Morales of Laredo; brothers, Heriberto (Beto) Palacios of Reynosa, Mexico, Cesar Palacios of N. Laredo, Mexico; eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jose of sixty-five years; daughter-in-laws, Gloria Peña and Janie Peña.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 12, 2021, 12:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  A rosary will be recited at 12:30 pm and Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 pm with Father Jacob Mendoza officiating.

Pallbearers include Eric Peña Jr., Abrik Peña, Christon Peña, Jason Rose, Peter Noonan and Chris O'Donnell.  Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or Hospice of South Texas.
