Sterling Ray Billings, 77, of Cuero passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011. He was born August 26, 1933 in Nopal to the late Otto and Susan Bertha Hand Billings. He was a truckdriver. Sterling married his late wife, Zita Billings on January 3, 1952. He married Lois Barrett on June 9, 1991.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Barbara Billings, Sharon Billings, and Debbie Nesloney and husband, EJ, all of Cuero; son, Don Billings and wife, Diana, of New Braunfels; brother, Kenneth Billings of Edna; stepchildren, Brian Fowler and wife, Jodi, Sandi Gallaut and husband, Bert, and Patiricia Sullivan and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Desiree Nesloney of Victoria, Christy Gore of Cuero, Chere Billings and Ashley Villalpando, both of New Braunfels, Kara Billings of Phoenix, Arizona, James Billings, Reyna Villalpando, and Nathan Villalpando, all of New Braunfels; five step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Jordan Blaylock of Cuero, Astrid Pridgen of Victoria, and Jaida Blaylock and Roddrick Gore, both of Cuero; and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Zita Billings; son, Joe Billings; sister, Jessie Lee Billings; and brothers, Lenvil, Lester, and Amon Billings.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Church. Services will be Wednesday, April 13, 2011, 2 p.m., at Trinity Church with Pastor Kenneth Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Darrell Spell, Tommy Boehm, Randall Ruiz, Chris Coppedge, Andy Spell, Tommy Gregorczyk, Kenneth 'Sonny' Billings, and Doug White.
