Obituary

Tommie L. Milligan Tribble, 98, of Cuero passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011. She was born May 30, 1913 in Concrete to Tom and Magora Dean Milligan. She married Joe Lewis Tribble on August 5, 1931 in San Marcos. Together they lived in Yoakum, Arkansas, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Crystal City, where Joe worked for the railroad and Mrs. Tribble worked at Lichensteins. Joe and Tommie enjoyed participating in several Union conventions. When Joe retired, they enjoyed attending Christian retreats, seminars, and their faith in the Lord grew and deepened. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in 1997 while Joe was at Citizens Hospital awaiting surgery. He was extremely proud of their 66 years together and told everyone he saw how he had a great prize in his wife. Joe passed away a few days after surgery. Tommie left this world with the assurance that they would be worshiping the Lord together throughout all eternity. She was a member of Fresh Start Fellowship Church in Cuero and loved listening to Christian music and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, JoNette Danell of Cuero and Nancy M. Murray of Portland; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Lewis Tribble; sister, Dorothy Bond; brother, Joe Wayne Milligan; and granddaughter, Paulette Danell.
