Tony Cervantes, 69, of Cuero passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He was born May 10, 1947 in Wharton to Jerry Cervantes Sr. and Julia L. Cervantes. Tony served his country during the Vietnam era in the Army. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren and going to the duck pond. He loved his sports especially the Spurs and Cowboys.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Camacho (David) and Leslye Cervantes (Patrick) all of San Marcos; sister, Mary Cervantes Vela of Cuero; brothers, Ralph Roy Cervantes of Victoria, Jerry Cervantes, Jr. (Yolanda) of Round Rock and Bobby Cervantes of Cuero; grandchildren, Makayla, Matthew, Madison, Devin, Derek, Isaac and Isabella all of San Marcos.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Freund Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Sunday, March 12, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Oscar Amo officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matthew Martinez, Derek Camacho, Roy Cervantes, Jerry Cervantes, Bobby Cervantes and Jesse Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers were Uncle, Johnnie Barrera and Jeremy Cervantes.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor at Freund Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
