Velda "Jo" Leick Tieken, 86, of Cuero passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cuero on May 26, 1931 to the late Eddie and Leona Goehring Leick. Jo was a housewife for 68 years and a mother of five. She loved spending time with her family, playing dominoes, playing games on her computer, and going to Coushatta.

Jo is survived by her husband of 68 years, Roland; daughters, Betty Blank (Ronnie), Linda Mills, and Laurie Klaus (Larry), all of Cuero; son, Roland Tieken Jr. (Karen) of Victoria; daughter-in-law, Pam Tieken of Cuero; five grandchildren, Michael Mills (Monica), Traci Frank (Rob Jr), April Spears (Todd), Kristie Tieken, and Michelle Klaus; five great-grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Mills, Tyler Frank, and Grayson and Holden Spears; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Leona Leick; sister, Etta Pairett; son, Gary Tieken; and grandchildren, Kortney Tieken and Troy Klaus.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 3, 2017, 2 p.m., at Hillside Cemetery with Pastor Paul Muehlbrad officiating.
