Walter Julius Ebrom, 76, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 after a 10 month fight with cancer. He was born in Westhoff on November 11, 1938 to the late Frank and Rosie Ebrom. Walter was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. Walter was a retired Southern Railroad employee. Walter loved to mow lawns. He took pride in his skills and was the best.
He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Schaffner, Irene Mueller, all of Cuero, Valeria Alex Buesing (Floyd) of Yorktown, Helen Hotz of Eagle Lake, Janie Goehring of Westhoff; brothers, Ben Ebrom, Edmund Ebrom (Sarah), both of Cuero, and Paul Ebrom of McAllen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elnora Lincke, Cecelia Lockstedt; and brother, Jacob Ebrom.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015. Rosary will begin at 9:30 and funeral mass will be at 10:00 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Yorktown.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Lockstedt, Jimmie Hotz, Jr., Darvin Mueller, Larry Mueller, Paul Ebrom, Jr., and Eugene Ibrom. Honorary pallbearers are Walter Wilke and Bruster Washington.
