Obituary
Warren G. Elder, 97, of Victoria passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017. He was born May 16, 1920 in Waverly, West Virginia to the late Wilson and Esta Lowther Elder. Warren was a United States Air Force veteran serving from 1941 to 1961. He defended Bataan and Corregidor during World War II and survived being a Prisoner of War. After returning to the U.S., Warren began working for the United States Postal Service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria 'Nell' Elder; daughter, Donna Salinas of Victoria; and grandchildren, Christy Salinas and Blake Salinas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Bennett Elder; sisters, Ellen Vecchio and Alice Apple; and brothers, Glen Elder, Durward and Blaine Elder.
Services will be Monday, July 3, 2017, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Brown officiating. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery.
