Wayne Clements Fromme, 76, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012. He was born in Beeville on February 17, 1936 to the late Ali and Iva Fromme and was raised in Weesatche. While he was a Goliad High School student, he began learning his trade as an auto mechanic. In 1955 he started working at Weber Motor Company.
Wayne married Marlene Schoenherr in 1957 in Yorktown and set up their home in Cuero. Together they established Fromme Automotive, where he enjoyed serving his loyal clientele who became part of his extended family.
In addition to those friends, he enjoyed his friendships that were cultivated in the Cuero Lions Club, the Cuero Gun Club, the Cuero Volunteer Fire Department, and his church St. Mark's Lutheran Church and its Men in Mission. He served fifteen years in the National Guard. Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marlene Fromme; brother, Kenneth Fromme of Victoria, son Travis Fromme and wife, Cally, daughter Laurie Wendel and husband, Brian, grandchildren, Keaton and Kally Wendel and Karoline and Coleman Fromme.
Telling jokes around a campfire was a favorite pastime, along with hunting and fishing and cooking for various organizations.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero. Services will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at 10 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero with Pastor Karl Biermann. Interment will follow at St. Andrew's Lutheran Cemetery in Weesatche.
Pallbearers include Raymond Faltesek, Clifton Jacob, Keaton Wendel, Randy Katzmark, Perry Heibner, and Talbert Wendel.
Memorial contributions may be offered to St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Cuero or St. Andrew' s Lutheran Cemetery in Weesatche.
