Wilburn E. Oehlke, 91, of Meyersville passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024.  He was born August 23, 1933 in Weesatche to the late Herman and Lillian Bade Oehlke.  Wilburn served in the United States Army Artillery.  He married Marilyn Hartman on June 18, 1954 at St. John Lutheran Church in Meyersville.  Wilburn retired from Alcoa in Point Comfort where he was an Electric Installation Supervisor for 34 years.  He was a member of Port Lavaca City Council, JayCee's, the Volunteer Fire Department, the VFW, and Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville.  He enjoyed deer hunting, traveling with Marilyn in their RV, and playing dominoes.

Wilburn is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marilyn Oehlke of Meyersville; daughters, Karen Jacobs (Marvin Mikeska) of Inez, Deborah Vanderheiden (David) of Corpus Christi, and Vickie Kruszka (Paul) of The Woodlands; son, Thomas Oehlke (D'Vonne) of Victoria; sister, Sharon Wooley of Waco; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lillian Oehlke and sisters, Marlene Dreier-Rangnow and Edna Harris Howell.

Visitation will begin at 10 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville with a funeral service to follow at 11 am.
