Willene Shedd DeWitt went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, May 15, 2023. She was born November 5, 1936 to the late William Edgar and Lela Gossett Shedd in Taft, Texas. She married Bob Stafford in 1954 at the age of 17. Together they had three children; William Allen Stafford, Sharon Renee Stafford (deceased), and Stephanie Ann Adams. Willene and Bob lived in several locations around south Texas and southern Louisiana before moving to Victoria in 1968. Their marriage ended in 1984.
Willene married Clifford DeWitt on May 31, 1987 and they were happily married for almost 36 years. They both worked for Weber Motor Co. over 20 years. She loved doing yard work and gardening, but her passion was raising birds. Over the years, she raised many different types. Rheas, peacocks, ducks, guineas and chickens could be seen roaming the yard and pasture around her home on the Guadalupe River at Thomaston. Willene was a very loving, kind and generous person towards everyone. Her smile and sense of humor will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
