William John Bartek III, 65, of Cuero passed away May 29, 2024.  He was born October 23, 1958 in Yoakum to William Jr. and Irene Elizabeth Blaschke Bartek.  He was a retired welder.  He loved to hunt every year with his brother, nephews, niece, brother-in-laws and friends.  He made some of the best BBQ and beans there was.  His passion was to raise exotic birds such as peacocks, quail, chickens, turkeys and pheasants from hatching eggs in the incubator to adults.  He loved spending time with his dogs, Pee Wee and Scooter.

He is survived by his sisters, Eileen Matejicek (Gene) of Victoria, Belva Farris (Ronnie) of Cuero and Carla Goehring (Jason) of Garwood; brothers, Gary Henrichs (Gail) of Victoria and Robert Bartek (Wendy) of Dripping Springs and his longtime friends, Virgil Brown, Robbe Davis and Luther Pick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Edna Lawson.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, 11:00 AM at Hillside Cemetery.  A reception will follow at Grandma Bartek's house.

Pallbearers include Cameron W Farris, Samuel P. Bartek, Robert Matthew Bartek, Jackson T. Goehring, Case R. Farris, Courtney E. Goehring, Chrissy Matejicek and Cody Lawson.

Honorary pallbearers include Virgil Brown, Robbe Davis and Luther Pick.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church or Pet Adoption of Cuero.
