William H. Burt, 92, of Baytown formerly of Cuero passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012. He was born on April 6, 1920 in Cuero to the late Henry Lee and Bernice B. Portress Burt. He married his beloved wife, Mary Lee Lyman Burt, on December 31, 1946 in Cuero. William attended the University of Texas. He was in the Army Air Corp and served in WWII. William was an accountant at Texas Eastern from which he retired after 30 years of service. He was a loving father and grandfather and an avid golfer and Longhorn fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. Smith and husband, Bob, of Round Rock; sons, Robert L. Burt and wife, Jane, of Southport, NC, David Burt and wife, Cindy, of Pasadena, Ronnie Burt and wife, Beth, of Huntsville, and Billy Burt and wife, Pat, of Baytown; brother Richard B. Burt of Taft; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Margaret L. Burt and brother, Grady A. Burt.

Service will be held Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Terry Brown officiating . Family will start receiving friends at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Aaron Smith, Chris Burt, Ronnie Burt, David Burt, Trey Cream, and Jeremy Hernandez.
