William A. (Billy) Carnes III, 69, passed away on Tuesday July 24th, 2018 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born December 18, 1948 in Cuero to W.A. (Bill) Carnes Jr. and Alma Bohne Carnes.

Billy attended Cuero schools and graduated in 1967.  He went on to Southwest Texas State University and graduated in 1972 with a degree in Agriculture.  Billy was a livestock inspector with the Texas Animal Health Commission and retired in 2000.  He was also a rancher, member of the Texas Army National Guard, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cuero.

Billy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandra Carnes.  Other survivors include daughter Kristi (Marcus) Snyder of Plano, son Scott (Laura) Carnes of Cuero, granddaughter Delanie Carnes, grandsons, Trenten Carnes and Grayson, Grant and Cooper Snyder and his beloved dog Snoozer.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Tiffany Dawn Carnes.

Pallbearers are Will Gips, James Hancock, Donnie Caraway, Jody Giddens, Curtis Brown, and Bruce Lewis.  Honorary pallbearers are Kerwin Kahlich, Dale Murray, Paul Gerke, Jeff Rutledge, Marcus Snyder, Mike Hess, and Ronnie Farris.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cuero or Pet Adoptions of Cuero.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday July 27, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Cuero with Pastor Marcellus Wesley officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
