William Carl Wagner, 96, of Cuero passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012. He was born in Washington County, Texas on November 18, 1916 to the late August and Ida Richers Wagner. He married his beloved wife Lucille Booth Wagner on August 15, 1947. Willie was a gauger for the oilfield. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Gardening, Playing dominoes, and watching NASCAR on TV.
He is survived by his daughters, Willie Jo Reynolds of Katy and Nancy Ann Jalufka of Corinth, MS; sister, Esther Wenske; grandsons, Ben Jalufka of Little Rock, AR and Neal Jalufka and wife, Iris, of Corinth, MS; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Jalufka and Emily Jalufka. Also survived by sister-in-law Joyce Ebrom and her husband Louis, and brother-in-law Kenneth Booth and his wife Leona, and loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Annie Schuenemann, Edna Wagner, and Ella Kramer; and brothers, Fred Wagner and Gus Wagner.
His daughters express gratitude to Clara Chatman, his devoted caregiver and friend; to the nurses and aides at Cuero nursing center for their love and care, and to all at accolade hospice who watched over him.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church with Pastor Barbara Beale officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Evangelical Cemetery.
